morning all. Can someone help me by giving me an address for somewhere to obtain WW2 ARMY RECORDS? Im looking for a JOHN BINGHAM, my wifes uncle who never came home to get demobbed, at least we dont think so, and weve never been able to find him anywhere. The last siting of him was in PARIS around 1945 by his brother GEORGE, my wifes father. So If we could get hold of his army record that might help up. Thanks a lot to all of you. TED. |

Ted, It may be worth your time to give them a ring, they will tell you what you need and send you the relavant forms to apply for the records, the address that Kathleen has given is correct but her is the phone number Officers or Soldiers whose regular or reserve service ended between 1921 and 1997 Tel: 0845 600 9663, option 1, then option 3 Roy |

It cost £25 about two years ago Ted. Not sure if it's gone up in price since then. Kath. x |

Tell them that you are next of kin, otherwise they do not supply them. |

Sorry Ted, I forgot about that. They send you a form to fill in about your relationship and it has to be the nearest surviving relative (spouse first, then child, grandchild etc.), so if you are not the nearest relative, they won't supply the records. Kath. x |

It's £30 now and the ones I sent for took about 4 weeks to arrive. However it did say on the application form that you needed a service number. Sam x |
