Hi, I have recently been chatting to my family our ancestry and up popped the subject of my Great Grandfather. My nan, gt uncle and gt aunt (his children) seem to think he had a child before he got married to his wife my great Grandmother! I have no idea if this is true or not and also have not idea about any name of this child or the mother! So I am trying to find info on my Grandmother's supposid Half Brother/Sister! Anyway, my question is .... Is there any way I can find out whether my Gt Grandfather did infact have a child with another woman BEFORE his marriage to my Gt Grandmother? Any info or help in finding any 'missing family' would be much apprecaited! Thanks in advance! Lee |

Hi Bernice, He was called Thomas Henry Lewis born 1895 (Prob 07/10/1895) I think he was born either in Seven Town, Oxengates, Shrewsbury OR Asterley, Shropshire. Lee |

I hate to be the bearer of bad news Lee but... I cant see anyway of finding out. The child might have taken his Mothers surname! Most likely if they were not married. :-(( sorry |

A long shot but I wonder if your great grandad left a will, he might just have mentioned his illegitimate child in that? |

Hi Judith, thanks for the great idea, but my nan and her siblings saw the will and had no indication to an illegitimate child in the will. I knew it would be a long shot but i wanted to be the first in the family figure out this story lol Cheers Lee |
