Bonjour Malcolm, ca va mon pote, my Colchester mate, how is the old town. I have been searching the realm for my dads kinfolk. He was from Thurso, yes right up there. Without the response by some of the local kinfolk, I have to do something and its interesting. The wine this year will be good, still on last years but come the new year the primeur will probably sell out locally. Anyway, how are you and yours, do keep in touch, Derek

Derek, There was a problem on Scotlandspeople yesterday. Everything was showing up as 'no image'. The did apologise today on their home page and it is OK today. Usually it is very reliable Terry

Derek, if I were you I would retry changing to direct download. Perhaps something funny happened just when you were trying to change it, because doing that usually sorts out this kind of problem. Make sure you click on 'Update Details' and wait for it to update them. Kate.

Thanks Gillian, that is probably the answer, write them. I did try that bit on Download at bottom of details page, but it did not change anything and by the time I checked back, it indicated Java Applet again. I have no real agression about this, oops thats the printer gone out the window, it is a bit frustrating, bye for now, Dinosaur Derek

Hi Diane, thanks for your ideas, I am on broadband, but I like the idea its a busy site. Not too busy to take your money. What actually comes on screen when one presses 'view', regards, Derek

Hello Christine, thanks for your reply. However, following your suggestion it does not improve the result. I have the viewed image page and when I click view, I get the same info on a green line (not a bus), I was hoping to get all the folk who lived at same address, is that unreasonable. Thanks for your time, Derek

I had this happen when I first started using scotlands people. When you go back to the site, go to PREVIOUS SEARCHES and you should be able to find the images you have already paid for. I found this happened more when I was using dial-up, but less often now I am on broadband - but it could also be to do with how busy the site is.

Have you tried looking in Viewed images then click view and the image should come up. Christine

Can someone please release my frustration of not being able to 'view' on Scotlandspeople. I get to the position of info offered for five units, I click view and all I get is a slightly different form of what I already had. Yeah, it takes the five units, but I don't get to see the image promised. This is for 1901 census. What am I doing wrong??, Derek
