George, Can you clarify the year she was born? You say 1857 but then you say she was 4 in 1841. Can you post the details you have of in the first census? Rose |

I need someone to search the parish records for Little Dawley(and surrounding area?) for 1857. My gt gt grandmother Ellen Abbott gave LD or Ironbridge as her birthplace in census's from 1871 onwards. Her fathers name is given as James on her wedding certificate but we can't find any record of her birth anywhere. Tried FBMD, 1837 online, Ancestry and LDS. There are two Ellens aged 4yrs in the 1841 census for that district. Maybe her mother remarried? I'm in New Zealand so searches get tricky! Thanks |
