If you download your tree onto your PC then this is a copy, your original tree remains. I use the free PAF and find it adequate for my purposes. |

Gillian, thanks for your input. If I export my GR tree will it still be available on website for contacts to view or would I have to upload this 1st. Linda, thanks for the nudge I'm going to google Family Tree Maker now and have a look. Liesele |

I'm trying to backup my GR family tree as I have already lost some marriage and death info with the new tree version. Im a newbie so don't know which is the best programme to use. I understand that a gedcom file is needed to download the tree. Having read threads on this quite a few people have used Legacy Family Tree. The only problem is when I try to download Legacy standard version this causes my pc to freeze and crash, 3rd time now and am bit reluctant to use this. I am desperate to back up my tree, can anyone recommend another software to download. |
