Helen Report 14 Oct 2006 13:45

A family friend's parents had both been married twice before before she was born. Her father was quite elderly by the time he remarried her mother so it seems possible that he may have had other children from his other marriages, her mother was not as old but possibly also had other children. The mother was called Florence Elsie Phyllis Strachan (maiden name), second marriage was Smith and third Dawson. She may have been living in the Battersea or Maldon area between 1927-1942. The father was named Joseph Dawson (1884-1957). He was a foreman in a Graphite Works. He may have been born in the North of England and his father was a cabinet maker. Many thanks Helen
