Can anybody tell me whether there are records for South Africa, eg Electoral Roll, Death index or Directory Enquiries. I have a man who went there around 1996 and need to find him but don't know how to check where he is. Any small amount of info would be really appreciated Thanks

Don't know what is available, but certain there will be official records. You could try asking the South African embassy.

From what I understand SA does not have any BMD index records available. A national magazine called 'The You' is printed weekly or fortnightly which has a section in trying to find missing people. This is sometimes used by geneaologists. You could post an ad there. There might be an online version for this section. Contact details www*you*co*za* Also google directory enquiries on SA google website.
