Can anyone recommend a book on Scottish Family History for use by a beginner? I want to buy one as a Christmas present. |

Thank you for that. I shall keep an eye out for its publication. The paperback version looks a good buy. |

'Tracing Your Scottish Ancestors' a Guide to Ancestry Research in the Scottish Record Office by Cecil Sinclair. Publisher Edinburgh HMSO. Mine is obviously out of date and does not mention Scotlands People but an updated version will be available Bought mine in 1994 at £5 95 so I have no idea of price today! It is in the same vein as The National Archives (kew) book on Tracing Your Ancestors so would be available from any good bookshop but more like £10 now. Janet |

Thank you Janet. That would seem to be the obvious book to buy. I shall have a look at it in a bookshop. |
