Please can you read this 1851 census for me ?

Thanks everybody It was the ar on the end of the word that didn't make sense! I'll happily settle for waller as that's logical Thanks again Molly |

I would agree with John that it's waller, mis-spelled wallar. I would presume he was a stone wall builder given his other occupation of stone mason. |

It's TWINAM without an e. I make it Wallar. Possibly misspelling for Waller - a person who builds walls. |

Please help, 1851 census for Bolton High, Cumberland.[Piece no 2433, Folio 273, Page 2] William Twiname Head 60 Born Scotland but I cannot work out his occupation His sons have the same occupation which I presume is to do with the building trade as in 1841 census he was a stone mason, in later census he was a builder. I have tried all sorts of interpretations but nothing makes sense, it's driving me mad. Can anyone help? Thanks Molly |
