Hello. I've seen your posting, and guess your looking at Nottingham area. I am looking for Angela Dodd born in Northumberland in 1962. Angela and her sister Christine were adopted and fostered, so I'm told. I am her half sister and have been looking for her for some time. Just wondered if you have come across any useful information please.

That looks like it might be her but how do I find out for def if that is my great nanna dodd? all I have to go on is my Nanna Dodd birth cert (ive got mind block and for the life of me cant remember how I knew my other family were related.) Wish they had a 1913 census lol Thank u once again xxxxxxxxxxx Update lol. I have just looked at that census and it says that Ethels father James was a hotel owner and that her mother Fanny was the manageress. On nanna Dodds birth cert it says her mum Ethel was a domestic cook. What do you think the chances are that this is the same Ethel? as I would have thought she would have worked for her parents not gone to work as a domestic cook for someone else. or did they in them days? (im confused again loL)

Angela, I don't think bastardy orders were still around by then! Have you tried looking for a marriage or death for Ethel Dodd, or are there too many to choose from? I'm just having a think, I'll get back to you if I come up with anything else... Kate.

Do you know if Frances Mabel stayed in that area? You may be able to find school records which show more detail about her parents. When I sent to a school for help, they were able to tell me of other children who were entered on the admissions register with the same given address. The register will often show which school the child moved on to, if any. Gwyn

For months ive been trying to track down my great nanna Dodd. Is there any way ill be able to find out who she is? This is all the info I have. In 1912 she gave birth to my Nanna Frances Mabel Dodd (elusive one lol) I have Nanna Dodd birth cert and all it says is her mother is Ethel Dodd and they were living at Rose Street Nottingham when she was born. I havnt a clue where Ethel came from or her age. There is no father named on the birth cert. I went to the archives and no bastardly order was made so im presuming there was some sort of private arrangement made. I looked up the address on the electrol roll for 1912/1913 and a man named Stone was on there. I also tried to find a baptism/christening for my nanna nothing. How can I find the rest of my Dodd family? or shall I just close that chapter and concentrate on the rest of my tree? Many thanks Luv Angie xxxxxx
