Ok it looks like a find. Pearson, George Henry, able seaman, date of death 01/11/1914 - age unknown, regiment Royal Navy .... There is only one other George Henry on there and he's too old at 52. Would that death on the CWGC show up on the register because the one I found was in March Q. 1915, Pearson, George H, age 34. Difficult because I don't have the chap's birth certificate yet although I will become a lot more interested in this line when his son's much awaited birth certificate finally arrives .... will bump up my other thread on the subject! Thanks for your interest everyone. Bridie

There were a lot of army camps during and after WW1 in North Hampshire.

Hartley Wintney springs to mind - that's North Hampshire - and there's a Hartley Wespall near it. Any good? Liz

Thanks everyone who beat me to Hampshire. Can't think why that would be him. I'm off to look at the CWGC. Back in a bit!!

Thanks Jim, I'm not even sure he was a war death but he'd be the right sort of age b.1882. All I know is that he was my husband's gran's first husband and the father of my father-in-law's elder half brother (who I'm still searching for) On his marriage certificate in 1903 his occupation is cook and they are living in The Oval, London. I've now looked up and Hartley Wintney is Hampshire - so possible for a war type death. regards Bridie

Thought I'd look for one of my Pearson deaths between 1910 & 1917. Only one that possibly fits - age and middle initial is registered in Hartley W. Anyone know where that is please? thanks
