georgina you are a star i have just found the marriage lines for Lockhart and Euphemia married 12 feb 1846 at cannon gate edinburgh, the Lockhart in dalkieth i dont think is a relative but who knows. how do you get this info because i am just starting and there is a lot of sites out there and some of them cost loads. i may have also found his parents lockhart Urquhart to Isabell or Isabella Fraser married 29 november 1803 at cannon gate edinburgh but i can't be sure.

i didn't realize i hadn't looked at the bith cert and low and behold thre was his mums name Annie Allen then i found the marraige lines and his grandparents name also Lockhart Urquhart and Euphemia Williams his great great gran i think was called Isabella i found that on a cenus for Dalkieth in Scotland in 1841 i couldn't view the marriage lines for Lockhart and Euphemia they were married on the 12Feb 1846 because it said no image so i have hit yet another brick wall but i am pleased with what i have so far thanks for everyones help i realy can't thank you enough

Don't forget that just because the father is called Daniel on the census doesn't mean his official name on certificates was Daniel. If your name was Lockhart I would think it quite likely you would be known as something else! Kate.

Sharon I have just done a freesearch on scotlands people & there is only 1 Lockhart Urquhart born in scotland between 1882-1883, the name is not very common. What was his fathers occupation on the marriage certificate? Georgina.

i have made a mistake sorry Lockhart Urquhart was only 19 in 1901 it was his wife Jessie who was 21 then.i would send an e-mail copy but i dont know how to do that(such a numbskill) thats is why i can not gett him on the cenus i dont know where to go from here because i cannot make out his mothers name to get a birth cert

thats great thank you i would tie in with Lockhart being 21 in 1901 but it says on the marrage lines in 1901 that the fathers name was lockhart Urquhart as well or maybe i am getting mixed up (which is quite easy)

i have found my grgr grand parents marrage cert.but cant make out the mothers name i have posted on trying to find with no joy. can anyone help.
