How can I find out were someone was born?

Hi Jayne, You need to put all the information you have down on the thread if you want someone to help you. You need the name, year born, where they were born etc . and what you are now looking for. Are you searching England or Scotland. Betty |

I have my g grandads marriage certificate, which has his fathers name and occupation. But I can't find him on the 1901 census with his father. Not knowing were he was born makes this harder. His surname is a popular one so I would have to order lots of birth certificates to find the right one. Has anyone any suggestions please. Jayne |
