Lambeth and Camberwell 1838 Help please

Thank you Janice and Georgina. It does seem worth trying for the cert. doesn't it. Yes that is him Georgina. I do have his marriage cert and his father was William, deceased at the time of George's marriage. I want to find out his mother's maiden name, I will look up Susan, hadn't done that. Thanks again. |

Maggie if this is him on the 1841 census & you are trying to find out who his father was have you thought of looking for Susan's birth certificate? When I visit Lambeth Archives, I go to Camberwell and then it's only a few streets away, so it's probably worth the risk. Janice |

Lambeth & Camberwell are both on the south side of the River Thames but not that close to each other. BUt saying that there are some areas on the borders of both districts that are close so its a possibility. |

Looking for the birth of George Spence 1838, in the censuses he says he is born in Lambeth, but the only Surrey birth I can find for someone of that name says Camberwell. I already have one wrong cert for this, can anyone tell me if it is possible this is the same place? Thanks for any help. |
