It is possible that a Census could of been taken during the day. I have located a relative showing at a school during the 1841 census I also believe she shows with her parents at the same time?? Thanks

The census was meant to show everyone who stayed at the address on census night. But the actual forms would be collected a few days later. In reality, householders might have filled them in a few days in advance. Was the school a boarding school? I have several ancestors who appear to be in two places at once - one woman and her children are with her husband and also several miles away with her parents. I also have fishermen at home and at sea at the same time! Not to mention lots and lots of relatives who aren't ANYWHERE daytime or nighttime!!

I can not confirm it was a boarding school, it was in 1841, i know there was a girls and separate boys boarding school there in 1808!! It is about 12 miles from her home but she lived in a very small village. Do you know what day of the week the 1841 census was done, it could be that she went home at weekends if she boarded there and like you say the census was filled out maybe by her parents at a weekend????

Looking again all the children show as not 'born in this county' so I guess that indicates a boarding school. However my relative was the only one in her family that was born out of the county!!! So that makes it even more confusing :)
