Hello Looby Lou Further to what I sent regarding dob of Richard Foley ( 1814 ) Hartland, Devon. Full Names / Marraige of Parents of Richard Foley - Peter Foley / Grace Burman - marraige - 2 Mar 1802 - Hartland, Devon. Do these places / areas come up on the census details that you have looked at before ? Do these seem likely matches ? Regards Jim |

hi selena there is something funny happening. richard and elizabeth are the parents and i have them on the census'. in 51 they are all together with thier children and elizabeth mole-relationship-mother and susan foy or fox relationship mother in law. on the 41 census they are at the same address as the later census still with susan fox and a lady called sarah newbury-she would be about the age of his grandma, just cant quite fit them together! lou |

I notice that Richard's middle name is Newbery Births Sep 1837 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FOLEY Richard Newbery Plymouth 9 262 Wonder if that is a clue to mum's maiden name? I've had that happen in my family, but I had to get birth cert to prove it. Selena |

With regard to the IGI, it contains, at best, a minute proportion of available info. Some counties, or individual parishes, are unwilling to allow LDS to access and copy their records.......... The site is constantly being amended........records are rotated in some instances, so what is not there this week, could well pop up next week........... With ref to purchasing certs...........perhaps you could put one on your Christmas present wish list............ Reg |

hi jim im looking for the marriage of Richard Foley to elizabeth-dont know her maiden name. Or his birth abt 1816. (according to census records) his children are all listed on the free bmd with ref numbers but im not in a position to be able to order certificates. Anyway i know when they are born between sep 1837 and dec 1844. So i assume the marriage would be between 1830 and 1837. they are all born in plymouth and are residing at james st in 41 and 51-charles the martyr parish, then in 61 have moved up the road and are in the parish of st andrews. thanks for looking lou |

If they married after 1837 you can find the marriage and obtain their marriage certificate. This will give you their fathers names. Their childrens birth certificates will give their mothers maiden name. Did you search the IGI on the family search site? This is incomplete, but someone on here was doing look ups from the BVRI which should fill in some of the gaps. Elaine. |
