Hi Eleanor, I will try that and see what they say, thanks for your help. Would you believe I had a job where I worked on a computer every day for about 10 years but it was just the same programme all the time, nothing else, and when the computer had any faults or brokedown, someone fixed it for you. How much does learn direct cost?? Betty

Hi Margaret, How do these interactive CD-roms work then. I can do word, excel and things like that. Its just if a simple thing goes wrong on the computer, I can't fix it or follow simple intructions as I don't know what people are talking about. Betty

Try the local library and community colleges if they are near you, both mine run free courses at 3 different levels. Sorry read again properly, know that one of the colleges does an online course Worth a go Helen

hi Betty You could try and buy a copy of ECDL/ICDL 4.0 Study Guide ECDL stands for European Computer Driving Licence. I done this at college but the study guide would be a great way to learn at home at your own pace. It will teach you not only word/ spreadsheets/data base ect, but the real basics of a pc. Its very sraight forward explains everything well Sharon
