Betty....double check, as Robert suggests, as I've never had anyone from the UK mention that they were unable to obtain the program using the link I posted. J |

Betty - I'm looking to see if I can find you a UK based site for Ad-Aware and will post when I find it. As for SpywareBlaster, once you've downloaded it and installed it you just have to click on the desktop icon once a week or so and click on UPDATES. The program works in real time, working all the time in the background - no need to scan your PC like you would have to do with Ad-Aware. You should have both as they do different jobs - Spyware protects you from having spyware/adware programs installed on your PC without your knowledge while Ad-Aware, when a scan is run, removes junk generated by spyware/adware programs and cookies. The genuine Ad-Aware personal is free. You aren't clicking on anything else on the download page are you? You should have aawsepersonal or aawsepersonal.exe, description Ad-Aware SE Personal, size 2.72 Mb, in your download folder. ( right click, properties ) Bob |

Hi Judy, The new one you gave me asks you to pay as well. I think its because we are in the UK that we are being charged. Again it did scan the system but would not remove an problems it found until I registered and paid for the service. Betty |

Thanks Judy, I will try that one. The one I downloaded was a red circle with a line through it. It did find things but would not remove them without registering to buy the system. Can you tell me something else I have dowloaded the Spyware Blaster but I am unsure how to use it, could you maybe give me some idea on what to do please. Betty |

Betty....sometimes when you look up a program, there are sites that will attempt to mimic the one you are looking for in hopes that you download their program, which sounds like what you came across in an attempt to download Ad-Adaware. Ad-Aware has both a pay for and a free version, though.....all you really need is the free version which you can find here: http://www.download(.)com/3000-2144-10045910.html Be sure to remove the ( ) from the address. When you get to the site just click on DOWNLOAD NOW for the free version. Judy |
