Hi I put my tree on here a while back with all names etc. Will it automatically hide the names of those living if I allow others to view it now or will I have to go back and change it and then re-up load it? Lyndsay |

No, it won't hide the names of the living people. I have been caught out that way. If you open your tree to other members, they may include the living relatives on their trees. It can be quite disconcerting if you find yourself on your own Hot Matches, which has happened to me. If you don't want other members to have details of living relatives, then you will need to alter their names to 'Living Smith' or whatever on your tree. I have also found my name put on other internet sites without my permission. |

If you go into 'my account details' there is an option to hide living relatives it hides anyone under 120 years in your tree. if anyone else uses your names of living people without permission report to GR staff and they will remove the details. Kim |

Thanks, Kim. I didn't know that you could do that. Is it a new feature? Only under 120 years old, though? It might be a bit marginal for hiding me!!!! |

You can always have two accounts one paid one unpaid . And have all the non living ones on the account you show people....unsubscribed one. Only trouble is you may not find living descendants yourself. Or else do not let anyone see your tree just provide relevant info when they email you. Kim |

i agree once i let some member view my tree, next thing i have my own children as my hot matches what a cheek, when i sent this person a message asking her if she would please take my living relations off her tree, she has not had the decency to answer me. (you know who you are) so i will never give permisson again for any one to look at my tree. |
