hi the information i gained about my dads family was before he got alzheimers i appreciate what you are saying regarding death certificate for birmingham i think i will go through index again for these dates and see what christian names show up for manchester thinking that my dad was named after his dad i wonder if my dads middle name could be significant berni |

Berni With great respect to your father - but why are you attaching so much importance to what he is saying, as he has Alzheimer's? The Christopher who died in Birmingham may well be yours - if I were in your situation, I would throw seven quid at it! Deaths have to be registered in the place where you died, even if you only arrived there five minutes before. OC |

hi i really believe he was dead prior to the wedding my father was 49 when he got married being the eldest he believed it was his duty to stay at home to look after his mother and disabled sister he said his father became ill with a bad chest not long after they had come to live in england and my dad said he died before mollie who died in 1953 i think maybe my grandad was either registered in another area or christopher wasnt his first name if thats the case i cant look for any info on him or my gran or my dads birth records berni |

Don't assume he was dead because he wasn't in the wedding photos. My father-in-law's father died nearly 20 years after f-i-l's marriage but didn't go to the wedding. Similarly, my dad's mum died years after my dad married, but she wasn't at his wedding either. |

My mum 74 has AZ too, horrible isn't it when they have no idea who anyone is. Our local crematorium keeps records of all cremations and funerals have you tried that route or the registrars office may be able to help....ours is very helpful, but with the new Who Do You Think You Are are getting flooded with queries again. Sorry I can't be more of a help. |

Are you looking just for his death or any other info on him. Can't any friends or relatives give you a rough idea of when he died? If not it is going to mean a long slow search through the deaths, I'm afraid, is it possible he returned to Ireland before his death? |
