Jaqueline, I know about BMDshare (am currently in the process of adding all my certificates!), I meant which one charges you 50p to add certs - Old Crone has now answered that one! Sam x |

Yes that's right. Sorry, it was a bad way to post, confusing the two things. Yes, the Bmd share website is great. I'm not at that stage yet, though, as I only have 2 certificates and they are both relatives. I have loads of pages I've bought with credits though, so just wondering how to make them available to people...I've started putting the info on the 'history' messageboards under the relavant names. |

Jacqueline Ah, the penny has dropped - are you buying GR credits? If it is census info you are after, then you could join Ancestry, they do various ranges of subs if you don't want to shell out £70 in one go. They sometimes have a free weekend, too. Or - you could ask on here! There are lots of generous people very willing to do look ups for you. I prefer the BMDSHARE site because although it is relatively small at the moment, I like the layout of the certificate input and it is easy to search. The more people who put information on there, the better it will be. OC |

sam, I think someone else has answered your question - it's www.bmdshare.com, for sharing the certificates you have in your possession. What I'm talking about is not so much certificates. It's info like who lived where in 1901, from the 1901 census online site (cost me 50 pence a go, if anyone knows of somewhere to get this information for free, please tell!) I don't have a lot of certificates, just lots of details of people with the same names as my relatives and where they lived! Might be useful to someone. |

You will probably find other websites on Deb, Best Website List which is not far behind this message, I see it has been 'bumped' up as it has very useful links within it. Another site which comes to mind is www.tracingyourfamilyhistory(.)co(.)uk |

There are several websites where certificates are shared, you can list the surnames on message boards, what you are not allowed to do is upload a certificate and show it online. There is a certificate exchange on www.arewerelated(.)co(.)uk - you can also try google for certificate sharing websites. |

Jaqueline BMDSHARE is a free site. And why are you paying 50p a page to look at BMDs? They are free on Ancestry and also on UKBMD. Who is taking 50p off you???? OC |

Hi, what about those pages on bmd which cost 50 pence a go? I've been round the houses trying to find one family - and seem to have a lot of information on others. I was thinking of putting the info on the community boards - the general history ones corresponding to the right names. Before I do, anyone know of any rules against it? |
