can anyone tell if i can look up adivorce in the 1920-early 30 dont no any dates so would have trawl i think ,just wanted to know if it was possable thank you joyce

Joyce have you tried the National Archives web site? I know they cover divorce but i am not sure of the years. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ Georgina.

You might find that at that time, unless your relatives were fairly wealthy, they didn't actually divorce, but just went on to live with another partner as man and wife without a divorce as this was extremely expensive and difficult to get. Kath. x

i remember my auntie saying her father paid for his divorce and that he gave his dad grandfather clock in payment,which was given to my dad when my nan died,but as you said its hard to find so i,ll by pass this for the time being,thank you all for the advice lol joyce
