I have just found my second contact on there, but although he / she has kept his / her name secret, I can tell from their relationship to our matching names that he / she is not related to me, we just have some relatives in common (i.e. one of my rellies married one of his or hers). What a letdown! I thought the big advantage that site was supposed to have over this one was that if you found a match, it was definitely your 'cousin' and that was why you had to spend so much time filling in whether each person on the census was a blood relative, ancestor, or related by marriage. I bet it will turn out to be somebody who I was already in contact with through this site anyway, like the first contact I found on there. Kate. |

You have to enter all the details of any of your family that appear on the 1881 census. You enter them exactly as they appear, mistranscriptions and all and also enter the folio number, page number etc. Lost Cousins then matches you with anyone that has entered the same details. It has only matched me once and that was with someone I already knew about from this site! Sam x |
