Thanks both, had a good look on family search library and nothing for St Johns online. Looks like a trip to Lewisham. UPDATED - St John, Lewisham Way - in the care of the incumbent - (stomps foot). Thanks again, Selena |

Selena... have you tried Lewisham. Deptford churches seem to fall between the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Lewisham. Jean x. |

OK - now go back to the site, click on Library, which will take you to a search page. Type in the name of the church/parish and you should get a list of stuff that the LDS holds for that parish. If they have the register, you can order it from your nearest LDS family history centre (details of that also on LDS site) for £2.70 ish, and you get a month to look at it. OC |

Had a look through familysearch igi but it seems St Johns is not there. Tried with common names, James Smith, Mary Smith but nothing at for St John's. typical! Selena |

Have you checked the IGI? Hugh Wallis is not complete, nor has it been updated since, um, 2002, I think. OC |

I have a marriage cert for 1859 St Johns Deptford (kent). But I can't find the parish listed in Hugh Wallis - I can find St Pauls etc. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks Selena |
