Its seems sad. For my 1870 relatives, father and daughter were buried together, both died of TB, Brockley called it a public grave (I think), Selena

It was on Who do you think you are - Robert Lindsey - 2 of his mother's sister's where in common graves, I think it was because at the time they died there have been an epidemic of TB and the families didn't have much money so they buried the children together. It was quite sad and something I had never heard of.

Selena, i think it is a pauper's grave,i have an aunt who died in the 1930's and she is in one ,she was only 11 it quite upset me when i found out. Gill

Can anyone provide more info about this. I have a couple of relatives at Brockley in 1870 apparently in a common grave. Today Greenwich told me I have another in a common grave but in 1943 - not that long ago so I was a bit surprised. Thanks Selena
