I have traced relatives back beyond 1841 originating from Chew Magna and I would like to go and visit to find out more info. Who would I need to contact to start looking at parish registers and church records etc? |

Find out which county Chew Magna is in, then google to find an address for the relevant Records office. Kathlyn |

Looks like it would have to be a weekday trip then. Doubt records offices would be open at weekends. Assume it would be Somerset record office. Would there be info in the churches there? |

Hello Alison Would the Somerset Records Offices not have e-mail address ? If they could confirm that they have what you are looking for, would save some time and give you some time to plan your day off for your trip. Regards Jim |

Checked out their website and it looks like they open alternate saturdays and they do hold info on Chew Magna. Just need to contact them a week or so before we go and they have people there on hand to help. Result! |
