Mark: If you and the American(s) share the same surname then Y-chromosome DNA test is worth a go - the more markers the better. Good luck, Stephen |

Im stuck on my tree, im back to 1810 in County Mayo, Ireland. The information from Ireland is hard to get hold of due to the Great Fire in Dublin in 1922. I have a few contacts, 1 being in America who's ancestors came from County Mayo, Ireland. He and a few others have had a DNA swab test to see if they are related, .........this is apparently a good, modern way of getting a little further on your tree. I would like to hear from anyone with any comments about the DNA swab test, the kind of results it shows and if they recommend it etc. Thank you, Mark |
