Hi Kerry This word cropped up in my family history by word of mouth only and I haven't been able to firm the info up. Basically I found out the Huguenots were non catholics, probably protestants, living in France around 1700 and they were not wanted and were ousted by the french mainly via La Rochelle on the west coast. Part of my tree apparently landed in Devon/Cornwall and were called Retallic which have many different spellings. I have an Eliza Retallic born c1820 in Illogen Cornwall who told everyone she was decended from these people and that was passed down. Hope this helps. lol
