Does the letter 'a'.....

Not sure, but I think it means an extra page has been added, so that the alphabetical sequence isn't disturbed.

One of mine was a marriage in Blackburn in 1921. The ammendment was regarding the names my gt grandma used. Joan

I just looked on Ancestry and it would seem that there were Tewskesbury marriages omitted from the index. I would guess that the 'a' indicates their addition to the main list.....although I've not seen that before with other added names. As the 'a' is shown against a different surname too, I would think that 'your' marriage record will record the event in the normal way. Gwyn

after the page number on a B M D registration mean that there has been an amendment ? This is a query from another thread. Any ideas? Joan
