Hi Georgina, I have managed to get copies of the census etc and have found that Elizabeth and her mother were living with a George and Mary Mountain on the 1851 census. Margaret is listed as sister and she is a widow. So I think that she did remarry and then had Sarah Ann. Phhhwwwww.... 'Another great step for mankind'. Don`t it feel great when you have at last climbed the last mountain, (no pun intended).....BUT... Oh bother, there is another one I must climb!!!!! Thanks for your help and input, your a real mate Kathlyn

Hi The age gap could be where children have died before a living one. Found that in the case of my Grandparents. They married in 1900 but my mum born in 1910. Mum always said her Mum had lots of children that died at birth. presume now she meant before she was born Josephine

Anything's possible :) Best thing is to find them earlier, with their mother and maybe a father too. Once you know the mothers name, you can look for marriages for her.

Yes, I know that when you read this you will think I am sixpence short of a shilling, but so many things with this family tree stuff is enough to send you round the bend.......I received the birth cert of my great grandfather William Moss, born 1869, and his mother was born Elizabeth Delay......on the 1871 census a Sarah Ann Donovan, sister, is living with the Moss family.... Can I assume that because there is a 20 year age gap between Elizabeth and her sister Sarah Ann, that their mother married twice!!!!!!. Phewwwwww. Kathlyn
