Any one out there from the Preston-on-Stour Area, that can help me with a look up? I am still searching for Joseph Pitt born <1808> says he was from Preston on Stour, but cant find any birth for him on the Fiche from that area, He married Sarah Wallington from Atherstone I believe 1833. But I have been stuck on finding him or his parents/siblings. He lived with a son Thomas and Charlotte his wife in his later years. But I would so love to find out his parents/siblings. Can anyone help? Doffy in Oregon

There is this submitted entry on the IGI which is probably your man, but unfortunately it gives no further details:- Joseph Pitt Male -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: About 1809 Preston-On-Stour, Gloucester, England Kath. x

I wonder if any banns of marriage survive from when Joseph married Sarah. Maybe they mention his parish....although that is not necessarily his birthplace, of course. The marriage record itself might give witness names ( perhaps another PITT) which might help to link Joseph to a family and then track their birth, in order to find his too. Gwyn
