What has really struck me as odd is the fact that my daughter is my cousin too!!!!! Thank you both for clarifying this for me though! Caroline

Sounds about right. Count the number of generations down to you from where they married, which should be about 4. It's treating you as belonging to one spouse and your father as belonging to the other spouse. Your and your father are one generation apart which gives the once removed. Incidentally, if you'd tried doing this using GR tree builder you would have had to put them in twice. J

Hi Julie So where it says that my Father is not only my Father he is my 4th cousin once removed...that is right??

hiya, yes this is correct, i also have cousins marrying, and i also get the two,'sets' of relationships HTH julie

Can anyone clarify this for me? I have been looking at my Family Tree Maker reports....Kinship reports in particular. I couldn't understand why for all of the relations and ancestors on my Paternal side had two types of relationship. I thought that I had entered something incorrectly, but then something struck me.....My Great Grandparents were first cousins.....would this subsequently give me two relationships for people from here on? Please advise as I am totally confused Many thanks Caroline
