I have just received a long awaited cert. It took me ages to obtain the correct info and as you can imagine I sat on tender hooks awaiting the postman. To allow me to go further i needed to know the maiden name of my 2xgreat grand mother, this cert was going to give it to me.......Oh yes.... there is her name.....Elizabeth Moss formerly, &&*&&66^^%.....I can`t read the blooming writing. Boo Hoo, sniff sniff, I could kill that registra!!!!!!! Kathlyn

Do you want to send a scan of the cert and let some of us others have a go at reading it?

Give the GRO a call and ask them to have another look at the entry. Or contact the local register office - their copy may be clearer.

Kathlyn what was your grandmothers name & when was she born? Maybe we can find her parents marriage reference. Georgina.

If it's gg granmother and from the GRO it will be a handwritten copy. The original one at the local registrars will be in a different hand. Bob
