Hi Kathleen James and Kate Many thanks for your help and the information. Kate - I have downloaded the Probate Form and will send it off tomorrow and will wait to receive a copy of my ancestors will. Again many thanks everyone your help is much appreciated. Susan

Susan, you need to look at the Probate Office website, which will tell you everything you need. It is at http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/cms/wills.htm If you then click on 'Forms and Guidance' and search for form PA1S (Application for Probate Search), you will be able to download the form you need to fill in. Hello Susan Kathleen is correct.....but you may find this web address helpful as it gives access to archives such as wills at National Archives. http://www.a2a.org.uk/ Hope you find what you are looking for. Regards Jimbob

Where do I apply for a copy of a will for someone who died in Sunderland in 1901 - I know when and where he died from the death certificate but I am not sure where I apply for a copy of his will. Can anyone help me. Susan
