Will have a look at those Sharon - thanks. There are still people around who lived through it and have stories to tell. My ex in laws in Coundon had their windows blown out but what amazed me was that the rest of the family, for days, didn't know whether they were alive or dead - no-one had phones and you had to wait for a letter! Scary bit for me was finding out that the communal graves in London Road Cemetery are actually mostly filled with 'bits'... Just don't blame the Blitz for what has happened to Coventry. The redevelopment started in the 1930s when they pulled medieval Butcher Row down, against public opinion, to build Trinity Street. Nothing changes. Sheila

my dad was in coventry when it happened i use to love listening to him when he would talk about it. I'm off to london rd sometime this week. Coventry city is a mess i think, so miss matched, most of the places i remeber are not there anymore. i was looking at a old photo when Lady Godiva statue was first put in place how beautiful Broad gate was then.
