Rosie how are you transfering your Gedcom files? by CD/DVD/USB key? Make sure you open the drive that the Gedcom file is on, unless you have transferred it to my docs it wont be there!

Thanks for tips .......saved gedcoms 4 times now, open my docs in FTM and they just do not show up. FTM only seems to open half of the files in my docs. Think I'll try reloading FTM Thanks again Rosie

Hi Rosie, On FTM click file then open. In the dialogue box that opens click file types and select Gedcom. In the lookin field select the drive and folder the file is on. Click open. This will bring up the import file dialogue box. By default the current file name will be used, change it if you wish. Make sure it is saved as .FTW extention and select where you want to save it. Hope this helps Keith

Hi Rosie, The only time I've done that it was quite simple, no idea what I did except followed the instructions on here, I'm not that bright with computer things so it couldn't have been that difficult! The link for instructions is on the side panel in 'Other useful tools' Suex
