Hi Dawn Have just looked in my A-Z. Nearest name wise is a Dodsley Place but that is quite a way north of Hoxton in Haringay/West Green area. Kate

What date was the birth cert, might be able to find a map from that time or before, and locate it from there.

Dawn I've just googled 'Dodsleys Folly+Hoxton and discovered it was off Drysdale Street in Hoxton, which is still very much there. If you do this, there seemed to be a lot of references to Dodsley, so if you've got the time you might find some interesting information there. Denise

No sign of Dodsleys Folley in the A-Z, only reference to Dodsley is Dodsley Place but that is miles from Hoxton - in Tottenham at entrance to Cemetery.

check out the maps of the area at http://www.motco.*com/map/81006/ I have been round this area and a lot of it has been demolished to make way for social housing in the 30's.

I'm home from work now and have looked it up in my 1930's A-Z. Sorry to say it had already disappeared by then.
