Amongst the siblings of my husband's grandad is Emily Heath b.1880 in Bermondsey. On both the 1881 & 1891 censuses she is with her parents and siblings in Bermondsey but I can't find her in 1901 census so have looked for possible marriages. There are several Emily Heaths marrying in London but only one in St Olave district which is where everything in this line seems to take place. Jun 1897 two possible spouses Ernest Alfred Painter or John Bennett S Norton. I'm favouring the John Norton as in 1901 census in Bermondsey is John Norton & Emily Norton giving right ages to coincide with the above. Which certificates should I get - I already know Emily's parents from grandad's birth cert and also the parents marriage cert. Or am I jumping the gun just wanting to make this Emily fit? ** off to bed now so please don't think I'm ignoring replies - I will check in tomorrow.

Find Ernest Painter as well. Presumably he didn't marry an Emily!!

Ok, thanks Patricia & Peter. I've already checked and found that Ernest Painter didn't marry an Emily so I'm pretty sure. Now just need a couple of certificates to add them in. Just wondered how others did this! Bridie
