For one of the entries in my tree I have a problem that, when I click on the name, I don't get the page change to inputted details. I've asked for help from the support people, but no answer yet ! (over two weeks). I've emailed again today. In the meantime I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem ? if so, what is the solution ? It seems to be only on one name. Thanks, Brian

Is it possible to delete the entry and enter it afresh?

How big has your tree grown. Is it time to have your primary tree elesewhere for security? Either on your computer or one of the other sites that folk have mentioned from time to time? Tribal Pages springs to mind. My primary tree is on the PC at home. John

Thankyou for your replies. * Muswell, The 'delete ancestor' option doesn't appear until you get to the detail page, and I can't get there. * John, My tree has 550 names and I only have this problem with one entry. I don't know much about the safety issue that you may be alluding to. ie having your main tree away from this site server. I'd like to know more about your thoughts on this topic. I think maybe my home pc is less safe. It's also getting low on memory. Brian.

The GR tree program has known limitations. For example it can't cope with cases where two people in the tree have more than one relationship (e.g. cousins who marry, so they are cousins and in-laws at the same time). Like all valuable computer data it's always wise to have a backup. When you say 'low on memory' do you mean the hard disk is getting full? Genealogy programs don't use nearly as much memory as things like Word. If your computer is a bit long in the tooth, a new one with much more storage and much faster processor needn't cost more than about £200. There are several other freeonline tree programs. I mentioned Tribal Pages, which many people have recommended. There are others. John
