I have a feeling it is something to do with bastardy records as each time I have seen these initials next to a baptism it is the chid of an unmarried mother - but just curious as to exactly what the initials stood for. Anyone know? Thanks! |

Aha - thanks Reg! I wonder why they called them Base Born? Will have to do some Googling and see what I can find...where that term originated from etc |
