Julia, it isn't one of those sites where you have to click on a link in the email to confirm your membership the first time you use it, is it? I should read through both emails carefully if I were you, and if you still can't get onto the site, contact them. Kate.

Hi the number you got given in the email is your password you should have got 2 emails off them, one contained your username, and the other your password, the password is preset by them and is a mix of numbers and letters.

No. A number is provided in a second email from them but not sure where to enter? Doesn't seem to be related to the password? Why is it always so complicated??? Thanks anyway. Any other way to find out about Alexander Daniel Stephen and Theresa Grant?

I have registered with Scotland's people but it woun't recognise the password when I retype? Also some sort of number given but not sure where I enter? In the meantime I know my grandfather was Alexander Clifford Stephen. He was born on 1st December 1903 at Maryhill Barracks Glasgow. His father was Alexander Daniel Stephen a colour sergeant in the Gordon Highlanders and his mother Theresa S Stephen nee Grant. They were married on Jan 30th 1903.
