Does anyone know of a possible pet name for Bess or Bessie, or could that be the original name? Any help would be appreciated. Abby

Bess and Bessie are pet names for Elizabeth, but can certainly be names in their own right, just as Eliza, Lizzie, Beth etc can be.

A school friend of mine was always called Betty, but her real name was Isabella. This was in the 1940s. Bea.
