whar does FHS mean

I think the FHS in Edinburgh is in Victoria Street i have a book i got about it but seem to have lost it when i find it i will sorry can't be more of a help |

im trying to find my grandmothers and grandfathers wedding cert.in Edinburgh round about 1940 but cant get it on scottish gov web site as it is not listed found a tip saying to use N.E FHS but dont know how to get to it or what it means i think i may be thick or something both my parents are dead as is my grandparents so hitting a brick wall i have went through a lot of cash trying to find marrage between Andrew Boak to Agnes Lawrie Scott C1940 i dont know her mothers or fathers name or exactly when they were married all i remember is that they came from stockbridge in Edinburgh |
