You could try http://www.historicaldirectories.org/ This covers from 1750 to 1919 but I also have a coffee house keeper in Clapham and he isn't listed :( Chris |

Has any one any idea where I can find out about Restaurants and dining rooms and also coffe shops in London during 1890s and 1900-1910. I have relative who was coffee shop-dining room proprietor around 1900-1905 possibly Kentish Town or maybe Clapham. Surnames are Nelson or Elgir. Thanks. Janet |
