I am trying to find what happened to Ann Ayre Davenport. (sometimes known as Annie) (She wasn't illigitimate - Ayre was her grandmother's maiden name), I know that Ann Ayre Davenport was born c1841 in Coleorton, Leicestershire and that she is living at home in 1841 and 1851 and in 1861 she is living with her grandmother. This is the last I can find of her in Leicestershire. However, I have her as a witness at my ggg grandad's marriage in 1862 in Islington in London. Can anyone find anything?

Yes- that's her birth, but her baptism is just under Ann. siblings: Thomas Stinson Davenport 1838 William Davenport 1839 Ann Ayre Davenport 1841 John Ayre Stinson Davenport 1842 Joseph Stinson Davenport 1845 John Henry Davenport 1848 Theresa Jane Dabenport 1849 (mother's maiden name was Stinson). I don't know if Ann married - can find no record of her after 1861/1862.

If wedding is correct, this could be family in 1871. yes, but that is Ashby in Leicestershire, not Lincolnshire.

Tom. Just looked at 1881 and the same family show all the birthplaces as Bardsley .. which is where they are living. So birthplaces look unreliable. Only way to check is to get marriage certificate. Jim
