What does reboot your computer mean? And how do you do it? Betty

Basically switch it off and switch it back on again. If you go to start...turn off computer, you will probably have an option to restart - that is what is meant by rebooting. Sam x

Bit of background - when a computer is switched on, it automatically runs a very small standard program, which then starts other things going. This program is always kept in the same place. The program concerned is known as the bootstrap, so the computer is picking itself up by its bootstrap. So starting up is booting up and restarting is rebooting. Jim

Hi Jim, Now thats more like it, more technical information on a computer. I just wondered why they don't say start your computer or switch off you computer. As you can tell not very technically minded regarding computer still trying to find out what type proxycfg-d at the command prompt means!! Betty
