Hi I'm searching for james leahy bn app 1816 marylebone,and his wofe ann bn app 1811,location is not known,i can find them on all census up to 1861 they lived 1841 surrey and 1861 london Holborn St George the Martyr but can find no trace of them after,i have trawled through bdm and can find 2 deaths which could be them 1873 onwards but nothing before that. I was hoping some kind soul out there may be able to find them with fresh eyes,any help is much appreciated. Warmest wishes Danuella

In 1841 he was an engineer and after that he was a timber merchant clerk. Thanks Warmest wishes Danuella

I don't know London so I don't know if Lambeth is anywhere near Marylebone, but there is this patient with the right initials (only initials are given for all the patients) in the Brookwood Lunatic Asylum:- Name: J L Age: 56 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1815 Relation: Patient Gender: Male Where born: Lambeth, Surrey, England Civil Parish: Woking Town: Brookwood County/Island: Surrey Country: England Source Citation: Class: RG10; Piece: 808; Folio: 96; Page: 8 Kath. x

I think you could be right, Maureen. It could easily be the correct name. Charlotte is even Charlotte H., which adds a bit of weght to that idea too. Gwyn
