A near 200 year old Large Leather Family Bible published in 1809 in Welsh with Births and Marriages belonging to the Reynolds & Thomas Families from Wales. The inscriptions read thus: William Thomas was born November 22nd 1829 And was married to Elizabeth Reynolds May 9 1856. William Reynolds (Thomas) was born on Tuesday February 2 1858. Elizabeth (Thomas) was born April 14th 1869. Sarah Jane (Thomas) was born June 21 1862. No place name is given but after research, I have found that this family in 1861 was living in Bronywood, Montgomeryshire, Wales. William Thomas senior, was born about 1830 in Whitch Pbel, Montgomeryshire and He was a blacksmith employing 2 men, Quite a well off family with three servants !!! Wouldn't it be great if a direct descendant of the people listed in it bought it! I could never part with anything like that if it belonged in my family, even if surnames had changed over the years. I remember when I was very young, my Mum once had a bible with many family dates of births and marriages in it - I'd love to know what happened to it as it would be great in my research :o(

I know what you mean. There are so many photograph albums etc for sale on ebay where the seller has no idea who the people are in the photos. Such a shame because there is nobody left to identify them. Lyla
