Hi there i have found some relations of mine in pallots marraige index in 1796 bury st edmunds,it says on the slip the names of the people marrying(peckham, samuel and francis mannin)and year, but underneath there is another slip saying peckham, sarah of woolwich!I was wondering if anybody could shed some light for me as to why the under slip is there?could sarah peckham possibly be samuels mother or a witness? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Danuella

The slips are literally just the names of the spouses and the area etc - some have the actual date of the marriage and others just have the year. The other slip is just the next slip in the surname series that was just accidently included in the scan of the other slip. Its just the next one on so wont be connected to that marriage. I often see a peek of the next slip in the scan of the one I am looking at - if you click on another one you will probably see the same kind of thing.
