The pages load faster than Ancestry. Maybe its expensive i dunno. I have been happy with it, and 90% of the time found what i went out to look for. My opinion worth having. You can buy small amounts, and later on they will offer you bulk deals. Think i paid 50 quid for unlimited b/m/d for a year. befor that i was doing a tenner a fortnight. Steve.. |

I'm afraid I must correct Teresa............Ancestry has all bmd's from 1837 onwards for England and Wales..........FREE.........no subscription required. Her statement about post-1910 refers only to the freebmd part of Ancestry............ Reg |

I use 1837online for BMD's as I can view at least 5 pages on there in the time it takes to view one on Ancestry. Maureen |

I have a subscription to Ancestry but I also use 1837 quite a lot its definitely quicker than ancestry which takes ages to reveal each page. I find it easier to navigate too. |

Steve, You CAN buy a yearly subscription to Ancestry (I have one myself and wouldn't have been able to find so much information for my family tree without it), but anyone can view all BMD's from 1837 up to 2004 for free by just registering (which is also free). I used to spend an absolute fortune on 1837online but I have bought very few credits since the BMD's went online with Ancestry. I also don't find Ancestry any slower to load (but I do have a fairly high speed broadband connection). Kath. x |

I see that the living relatives search on 1837online costs 10 units........and is 'powered by 192'. How much is a single search on 192? Is it more or less than the £1.00 it costs on 1837? I've never used 192, so have no idea.........would be grateful for the info. Reg |
